Ecologia acquatica
We focus on the freshwater systems, from lotic - small streams and rivers - to lentic, shallow and deep lakes, along the entire gradient from lowland to high altitude and latitude areas. We cover aspects of basic and applied science as well as management and education. Historically, the limnological research at the Istituto Italiano di Idrobiologia, Verbania, Pallanza, covers aspects of chemistry, hydrology, physics, botany, zoology, palaeolimnology, and many other issues.
