A whole day to learn how to begin doing statistics in R. We will start at 9am with a general introduction to the principles and philosophy of R, including packages, commands, reading and writing files, how to look for help, how to write scripts, what objects are, etc. We will see our first outputs in R. The aim is to understand the use, potentials, and rationale of R as a platform for different uses. Then, during the day we will move to descriptive summary statistics and how to obtain them, to conclude by applying statistical models to answer some typical questions in ecology using regression and analysis of variance and other inferential statistics. The end of the course will be around 5pm.
Per poter partecipare è necessario installare sul proprio computer alcuni pacchetti, che verranno comunicati circa una settimana prima dell'inizio del corso.
